The words “pine tar” immediately conjure up images of a July, 1983 afternoon at Yankee Stadium, an ill-fated Goose Gossage fastball, a towering George Brett home run and the ensuing “out” call and restraint of the enraged slugger. The ruling, of course, was eventually overturned and pine tar remains a part of the game. This Yankee Stadium plastic tote bag was used at the famous venue to store and transport the infamous gripping agent. The blue accessory measures approximately 12"-tall and features the club’s “NY” logo, a zippered top and two canvas handles. The messy contents include (2) pine tar appliers and a rosin bag. Excessive stadium and game use is evident on this unusual Bronx keepsake.
